We have been trading as an engineering company since 1974 machining various components and modifying parts to customers requirements/ drawings. We have a good reputation for a quick turn around on projects and offer the complete engineering service working well with local companies with outsourced procedures for example plating and finishes. We are fully stocked with cnc machinery with both Mazak and XYZ Lathes and Mills, and can offer single 1 off items or small/ large quantity batch work. Iso 9001 since March 2017
Fixings and Fastenings Supplier
The trade counter and warehouse are fully stocked with fixings, fastenings and hand tools, ranging from standard nuts and bolts to specialist fixings and fastenings. We also keep a comprehensive range of stainless fastenings and can get most items that we do not stock next day. We deliver everyday around Bristol and the surrounding area and can deliver anywhere in the UK next day by Priority Express.

Brief History
Garth Engineering Services was established in 1974 by Chris Garland and Robert "John" Smith. Struggling to decide on a name they combined their surnames and came up with Garth.
They set up a small workshop in a shed by the saw mills (Felthams yard) Bridgeyate. After a few years the business was going well they decided to move to the company to Kingswood and bought a place in London Road. It was a larger building and had running water (at Bridgeyate they had to use the local pub for toilet breaks).
Again the company grew and after a few more years moved to the current premises on the Fishponds Trading Estate buying other factory units either side of unit 6 as the company progressed and in 1993 expanding into the fixings and fastenings market to run alongside the engineering. John died not long after the move and Chris carried on running the company to 2014. Although Chris is still very much involved in the company he "retired" in 2014 seeing out 40 years as a company. Robert Garland his son has taken over the responsibilities of running the company who incorporated the business into a LTD company in 2014. Catherine Chris’s daughter is also involved at the company keeping it very much a family business.
